RECORD 01: THE TWO BROTHERS (FOLKLORE)

yard folklore speaks of two brothers who watched over the island in the time of the founders. one brother built. one brother was sealed beneath the island. every year the founders held the festival of the yard directly above the seal. the council insists the festival schedule was a coincidence.

the folklore does not agree on which brother did the sealing. the folklore does not agree on much. the folklore agrees that the sealed one is still beneath, and that the island is the lock, and that everyone named yard is part of the mechanism. that last part is probably a joke. folklore jokes a lot.

UNCONFIRMED the council reminds residents that folklore is not history. history is chapter 1 through 6 (see town history).

RECORD 02: THE FOUR CHALICES (FOLKLORE)

four ceremonial chalices appear in the folklore and in zero (0) photographs:

• the GOLDEN CHALICE - said to let the drinker see past a lie.
• the COPPER CHALICE - said to remember the ancient coils.
• the SILVER CHALICE - said to harden the drinker against the dark.
• the MARBLE CHALICE - the "true saviour" chalice, said to be required to banish the sealed brother.

RECORD 03: THE FORGOTTEN BOOK

the church basement contains one (1) forgotten book. that is the record. the council does not remember the books name, its language, or why it is kept. the book is accounted for. the inventory is complete. do not read aloud.

RECORD 04: THE RADIO LOG

on loan from ohm and ion yard, retired electricians: the original town radio logbooks, kept from the day the town was wired. entries are meticulous. weather, requests, sauce advertisements. the entries stop abruptly one night. the final entry reads:

"day 4,112. the radio played a song today. we did not turn it on. we did not turn it off either. it was not plugged in. it is still not plugged in. it is still playing. we are going home."

the logbooks were returned to ohm. ohm returned them to the archive the same day, wet. it had not rained. the archive is complete. UNCONFIRMED
